Tish earn narrow win over Fishguard

ST ISHMAELS earned their third win of the season on Saturday (Feb 5) as they beat Fishguard 2-1.

The win ends a run of five straight league defeats for Tish and keeps them in touch with tenth placed Neyland who sit just two points ahead.

Joel Morgan scored with ten minutes to go until half time and Brennan Devonald scored just two minutes later to give Tish a 2-goal cushion.

Tish went in at the break with a 2-0 lead but Fishguard looked to get themselves back in the game in the second half.

With nineteen minutes to go Fishguard pulled a goal back through Anthony Couzens but they were unable to find an equaliser.

Tish held on for the win and will now look to push on when they host Monkton Swifts on Saturday, February 12.

Fishguard are without a game on Saturday, due to other teams’ involvement in the Senior Cup quarter finals.
