Welsh celebrations: Will we see them in March?

The FAW has confirmed that the Wales National Team will play two friendly international matches against Northern Ireland and Ukraine in March.

The games will form part of Chris Coleman’s preparations for UEFA Euro 2016 in France. The finals tournament begins in June, when the Dragons will meet Slovakia, England and Russia in Group B.

Wales will host Northern Ireland on Thursday, 24 March at Cardiff City Stadium in a Vauxhall International Match that will kick off at 7.45pm.

For the second match, Wales will travel to Ukraine on Monday, 28 March at the NSK Olympiyskiy Stadium in Kiev.

Coleman said: “We are delighted to be playing the two fixtures and they will be ideal preparation for our group games at UEFA Euro 2016.

“Michael O’Neill has done a fantastic job as manager of Northern Ireland and I am delighted for him. This will be a great occasion for both sets of fans ahead of the Finals.

“Meanwhile, the Ukraine are quality opposition and will be a real test for myself, the coaching team and the squad of players.”

Northern Ireland and Ukraine, who have also qualified for the tournament in France, were both drawn into the same group for the Finals next summer. They are joined in Group C by Germany and Poland.
