Whitland wither against Emlyn

whitland-rfcWhitland 7

Newcastle Emlyn 18

THE BORDERERS came off second best against high flyers Newcastle Emlyn, who stay second in the table, as Whitland slipped down to tenth. Only one try was scored in the first half, as Alun Howells crashed over for Emlyn for a unconverted try. After the tight first half finished, the second looked a little brighter as speedster Shaun Coles raced away for Whitland, and James Stephenson added the conversion.

However, this was the last score for Whitland, as Newcastle Emlyn upped their game, as Rhydian Harries controlled the game from fly half. Dan Davies added two penalties for Emlyn before Dan Havard touched down for a try from a push over scrum to secure his side victory, and denying Whitland a losing bonus point.
