Wizards win again to close gap on third

MERLINS Bridge continued their fine form on Tuesday night (Apr 12) as they beat Hundleton 8-0.

It was their fifth win in a row and they now sit just a point behind third placed Carew, albeit having played a game more.

Ben Davies put the Wizards ahead midway through the first half and they held on to their narrow lead until half time.

Jordan Williams doubled the home side’s lead five minutes into the second half and five minutes later Josh Thomas made it 3-0.

The two sides had drawn 3-3 in their last meeting a few weeks ago but Hundleton’s hopes of getting back into it were dashed on the hour mark as Williams scored his second goal of the game.

Will Haworth then made it five soon after before Williams completed his hat trick with fifteen minutes to go.

Williams then scored twice more late on to seal the win. The Wizards now have one game left to play which is still to be arranged.
