POLICE have appealed for information after a bicycle worth more than £1,500 was stolen as a result of a burglary in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The thief targeted Cranc Cyclesport, on the Llangunnor Road, Carmarthen, at around 1.10am. After causing serious damage to the front door and shop gaining entry, one man was captured on CCTV wheeling a Giant mountain bike away from the scene.

He was wearing what appeared to be black trainers and an Adidas baseball cap.

The founder of Cranc Andrew Rowlands told The Herald that the bike’s value was ‘between £1,500 and £2,000.’

“They basically threw a big boulder through the front door, caused a lot of damage to the shop, and took the bike,” he added.
