A lifeboat was quickly launched, crewed by Darren Sheppard, Paul Mitchell and Luke Maliphant, who found the jet skier with a very badly, open fracture of the lower shin.

Further medical support was requested by UK Coastguard, and an ambulance was dispatched to Burry Port. In the meantime the Burry Port UK Coastguard Mobile arrived on scene.

The casualty was prepared for an airlift by the ambulance paramedics, assisted by the UK Coastguard team and lifeboat crew members.

Rescue 187 landed on the beach, and the casualty was taken to Morriston Hospital for treatment.

This was the 68th call of 2016 for Burry Port RNLI.
