Call Centre star rescued by RNLI

Call centre Nev WilshireREALITY TV star was among 13 people rescued by the Burry Port lifeboat on Monday (May 30).
Nev Wilshire, ​​made famous by the BBC fly on the wall documentary The Call Centre was towed to safety after his boat suffered engine failure, in a busy day for the lifeboat station.
A spokesperson for Burry Port RNLI said: “At just after 1.00pm we were paged by Milford Haven Coastguard, to assist a broken down motor launch, which was being towed by another vessel, but making little headway, in the vicinity of Burry Holmes on the Gower.
“The Atlantic 75 ‘Leicester Challenge II’ was immediately launched, crewed by helmsman Darren Sheppard, assisted by Lee Fox and Rhydian Bowen, who made their way to Burry Holmes, locating the vessel and safely towed it back to safe moorings in Burry Port Harbour.
“At just after 2.00pm, another vessel was observed outside Burry Port Harbour, with engine failure, so the D class ‘Diane Hilary’ was launched to assist, and this vessel was also towed to safety, both boats arriving in the harbour at the same time.
“The Burry Holmes vessel had 10 persons on board, the Harbour breakdown had 3 persons on board.
“The glorious weather for the bank holiday had brought out many visitors, with Burry Port Harbour being absolutely full of people and cars, making manouvreing of boats a difficult process, but the skills of our drivers, Mal o’Connell, Craig Griffiths and Eddie Edwards were really put to the test.”
The spokesperson went on to praise all those involved in the rescues.
