Ceredigion County Show accepting entries

cerdigcountyTHE ABERYSTWYTH and Ceredigion County Show is pleased to announce that it is now accepting entries for the 2016 event, which will be held on Saturday 11 June at Gelli Angharad.

The County Show will host a wealth of new classes this year, across various sections, so that everybody is sure to find something to suit their needs.

In the horse section, new classes include Concours d’Elegance, Pure Bred Arab, Ridden Shire, Maxi-Cob and Veteran Horses.

The cattle section sees the welcome return of the British Whites and the Welsh County Shows Competition 2016 (for Pedigree Beef Pairs), kindly sponsored by Greenlands Insurance Services Ltd. If feathered animals are more to your taste, the poultry section also offers new classes and a brand new turkey section.

The sheep will be returning once again this year, and organisers say they ‘are very much hoping to build upon the success of last year, which saw a record number of entries in this section.’

They have also said: “Even if you don’t have a sheep grazing in your back garden, there’s always the produce section, with classes ranging from cakes, eggs and wine to photography and flowers. There really is something for everyone!”

The Aberystwyth and Ceredigion County Show is growing every year, and this year is no exception. Attractions include an owl rescue exhibition by the North Wales Owl Sanctuary, sheep shearing competitions, a dog show and of course the ever popular vintage section, which will be touring the main ring around 1pm.

As always, a wealth of trade stands will be present, promoting and selling a wide range of goods, from agricultural machinery to handmade crafts, home accessories and garden products and plants.

The closing date for entries in the horse, cattle, sheep and poultry sections is Saturday (May 14).
