Police ask for help with Gwynedd road tragedy

Welsh-policePOLICE are continuing to appeal for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the A496 at Llanelltyd in Gwynedd earlier this month.

Shortly after 3pm on Sunday, May 8, North Wales Police were informed of a road traffic collision involving several vehicles including a motorcycle.

Sadly, the motorcyclist, a 50-year-old man from the Cheshire area, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigating officer, PC Gareth Rogers from the Roads Policing Unit said: “I am appealing to anybody who may have been travelling towards the Barmouth area and who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

“The motorcyclist was travelling with a group of other motorcyclists who were heading towards the Barmouth area. We know that the road was very busy at the time with weekend holiday makers and anybody who may have information that could assist our investigation are asked to contact us.”

Anybody with information should contact officers at the Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting reference number U066077.
