TENBY and the surrounding area is set to benefit from the creation of 22 jobs, as retail giant Co-op moves closer to opening its new store in the town.

The 2500 square foot store is situated on the site of the former Post Office vehicle repair shop on The Green and has it’s own dedicated parking.

It follows fellow big playing retailers Tesco and Sainsbury’s into the town, and it will be hoping to stamp its mark when it opens this spring.

An application for signage for the store is due to be considered soon by the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority.

“The Co-op is investing to transform and grow its convenience business and we are delighted to have an opportunity to create a new store with which to serve the community.

“The store will have a focus on fresh and healthy produce, meal ideas, chilled beers and wines and essentials.

”The spokesman also promised great value for local people who shop there, with the companies slogan being ‘little and often’ adding, “the Co-op is also investing in lowering prices of everyday essentials, including fresh fruit and vegetables.
