Custody unit moving from Llanelli to Ammanford

policeTHE CUSTODY UNIT in Llanelli is moving to Ammanford, Dyfed-Powys Police have confirmed, as part of the Estate Modernisation Programme.

The unit, which is the busiest within the Dyfed-Powys region, has become “increasingly challenging” to work from. The force are looking to provide the best facilities for both those who work and visit the cells.

This change is scheduled to start in early October with the new site being used for approximately two years. The force hopes to acquire land in Llanelli to develop a brand new station and custody unit as a long term solution.

The current unit in Llanelli will continue to function as an overspill facility.

Opening times at the new Ammanford unit will be 8am – 8pm on weekdays, and 9am – 5pm on weekends. At Llanelli, it will be open 8am – 5pm on weekdays, and closed on weekends.
