Double dealing drugs man jailed

Swansea Crown CourtA MAN caught twice selling cannabis resin around Ammanford has been jailed for 16 months.

Mohammed Khan, aged 24, had been “shopped” to police who had been told in February what he would be carrying, where he would be going and what car he would be driving.

As a result police stopped his car and found cannabis resin with a street value of £5,000.

Swansea Crown Court heard on Monday (Jul 11) that Khan was granted bail but police later raided the house he was staying at and found he had started up again.

This time officers found cannabis resin already divided into 112 street deals of £20 each, plus £300 in cash.

Khan, of no fixed address, admitted two offences of possessing cannabis resin with intent to supply.

His barrister, John Tarrant, said Khan had had a promising future and had even won a scholarship to university. But he had formed a relationship with a woman his family had not approved of and his life had run into difficulties.

Khan, he added, had ended up with no-where to live and had been “sofa surfing” at the homes of friends.

Judge Keith Thomas said Khan had dealt in relatively substantial quantities and had carried on dealing even after his arrest in February.
