A PICTURE which appears to show a man making off with a large pub sign in Carmarthen has received over 50,000 views since it was posted on social media yesterday.
The Three Salmons on Water Street is currently undergoing renovation before reopening as the Dog and Piano. It appears that the sign was removed as part of this work, before one man apparently decided that the opportunity was too good to pass up.
The picture was posted on social media site Spotted Carmarthen on Sunday morning, and has been ‘liked’ 1,400 times since. By yesterday evening, it had been viewed more than 50,000 times.
One person commenting on the article said that they had been working on the pub: “I said to the owner, ‘shouldn’t we bring the sign in, break it up, and take it to the tip?’ Her reply was ‘no, leave it out there someone might take it for us, and they did!” he said.
