Emergency services sent to free a Pencader toddler from his cot

fireengineEmergency services attended an incident in Carmarthenshire this morning (Feb 19) in which a 13-month-old boy became trapped in his cot.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 6:19am and a team of Llandysul firefighters, as well as an emergency ambulance, were sent to the home in Pencader.

The toddler had got his legs stuck in the railing of his cot overnight and had to be freed by the fire crew.

A spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: “We were called at just before 6:25am this morning to reports of an incident in Pencader where a child was said to be stuck by his lower limbs in his cot.”

The fire service completed their rescue mission by 6:41am, who then put the incident in the hands of the Welsh Ambulance service.

The spokesperson continued: “We attended with an emergency ambulance and the young male child was conveyed to West Wales General Hospital following the ordeal.”
