Letterston van incident: Police satisfied no offences were committed

Police investigating a report of suspicious behaviour in Letterston have completed their enquiries.

An allegation was made that a van driver gestured towards a child, before driving off.

Officers located the driver, who was spoken to. Police are satisfied that no offence was committed, and there will be no further investigation into the incident.

Reports came in from locals living in Letterston that police are hunting for the driver and passenger of a white Fiat Doblò van on Friday.

Police were reportedly looking for witnesses after the two men allegedly tried to entice a young girl into their vehicle in the village at around 8am on Friday, (May 10).

The police press office told The Herald at the time:”Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating after a child reported a suspicious incident in Letterston this morning.

“A schoolgirl has reported that a man in a white van gestured to her to go over to the vehicle.

“He did not speak to her, and no contact was made.

“The van then drove off, and the child told a member of the public what had happened.”
