Machete threats denied

Swansea Crown Court

A TYCROES man accused of threatening the driver of another vehicle with a machete in a ‘road rage’ incident appeared at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (Feb 15).

38-year-old Alun Lewis, of Teglan Park, pleaded not guilty to possessing a bladed article in public.

Lewis also pleaded guilty to one charge of using threatening or abusive behaviour.

The court heard that both allegations stemmed from an incident in Upper Brynamman on January 13.

District Judge David Parsons accepted jurisdiction, but the defendant elected that the case be heard at Swansea Crown Court.

He was released on bail until his next appearance, on condition that he has no direct or indirect contact with two named prosecution witnesses.
