Man airlifted to hospital after lorry crash

air-ambulanceTHE WALES AIR AMBULANCE airlifted a man to hospital this morning (Jan 13) after a lorry overturned and rolled down an embankment.

The incident happened on the B4302 between Llandeilo and Talley at around 8:30am, which prompted a response from The Welsh Ambulance Service, Dyfed-Powys Police and Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

The Herald understands the man sustained serious injuries in the incident. The condition of another person who was also in the lorry is unknown at this time.

Members of the public assisted the lorry passengers before the emergency services arrived on the scene, including one man who was cutting tree branches away from the cabin.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at shortly after 8:40am to reports of a road traffic collision involving a lorry which had fallen down an embankment on the B4302 near Talley.

“The Wales Air Ambulance, an emergency ambulance and a rapid response vehicle attended the scene and a man was airlifted to Morriston Hospital in Swansea with serious injuries.”
