Mark Williams: Attending a satellite broadband demonstration in Lampeter

MARK WILLIAMS, Member of Parliament for Ceredigion, attended a satellite broadband demonstration in Lampeter last Friday (Oct 28).

The demonstration of the Vip3Play system, which aims to provide cost-efficient satellite broadband for domestic and enterprise users, was organised by local PR company Radical Moves PR and was demonstrated by satellite broadband company Global Teleports.

Commenting on the demonstration, Mark said: “It is important that alternative broadband technology is promoted and invested in. In rural communities like ours, people are continuously let down by poor broadband service, or indeed have no service at all.

“Technologies like satellite broadband have drastically decreased in price over recent years, and the quality of service is constantly improving, and with continued investment and positive publicity it will only improve further. With so many thriving small and micro businesses in the county, it is important that our service is fast and reliable across the board. In this technological age, every household should be able to access good quality broadband.”

Mark emphasised his disappointment at the continued broken promises by BT, Openreach, and the Superfast Cymru programme and confirmed that he will continue to fight to ensure that everyone in Ceredigion can access high quality and reliable broadband.
