Mystery man dumps rubbish at recycling centre

CARMARTHENSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL’S enforcement team are trying to track down a man who dumped rubbish at a recycling bank.

The man was seen carrying black rubbish bags from his car and disposing them in Abergwili’s recycling site on Friday, August 11 around 7:30pm.

It is an offence to leave waste on the ground at recycling banks.

Recycling banks are for waste that can be recycled and not for general waste

Enforcement officers are cracking down on litter louts at community recycling sites which have become a hotspot for fly-tipping in recent months.

The council’s executive board member for responsible for enforcement, Cllr Philip Hughes said: “We have a zero tolerance for littering and fly tipping in Carmarthenshire. People should ensure all waste is disposed of in the correct manner, using the correct containers provided at these site.

“It is completely unacceptable that people think it is okay to dump their rubbish on the floor expecting someone else to clean it up for them. Be warned we will use our powers to ensure we clean up these sites, so if you know this man or saw him unloading waste from his car then please get in touch with us. By working together we can clean up Carmarthenshire.”
