VOLUNTEERS at Y Ganolfan Glanaman Community Centre are hoping to turn the centre into a market where locals can sell and progress their trading.

The centre which is located on the high-street, will be hosting a bargain filled table top sale this Saturday (Feb 6) and organisers are urging local sellers to get involved.

Organisers are welcoming anyone who wishes to get involved and help support the centre in becoming a market for locals, are urged to join in and to book a table at a cost of £5. All proceeds earned from the event will go towards the upkeep of the centre and development activities for locals in the community.

A spokesperson for the centre said: “If the response of our first table top event is positive, then we hope to hold a dedicated sale each month for local craft makers, fresh produce, allotment growers and the like.

“This will help support local creativity and hopefully provide an outlet for locally produced products.”

The volunteers at the community centre are hoping to have the market running by spring to allow a home for local crafters, farmers, and other traders to raise their profile in the local community and develop skills to progress their work forward.

The spokesperson added: “The centre will be a hub to provide advice, training workshops and networking opportunities for local producers, whilst also providing an outlet for their product and linking them with existing business support services such as Business Wales, the Wales Cooperative and funding providers.”

The event will take place on every first Saturday of each month, and set up time for sellers will be 10am, will public access being available from 11am.
