PJ Proby tour cancelled following sick comments about underage girls

Says he won't marry a girl he can't raise from age 12

80-YEAR-OLD PJ Probey has cancelled his 20-night goodbye tour, following his sick comments about underage girls.

The popstar had his shows cancelled, including those at the Lyric Theatre in Carmarthen, after an interview emerged of him speaking about how he wanted to marry a girl around the age of 12.

He said: “I won’t marry a girl I can’t raise from age 12, 13, 14 … I like it that they’re young and fresh-looking and don’t come with baggage – nobody’s messed with their heart and broken it.”

Proby was due to appear at the Lyric Theatre in King Street on June 6, but bosses at theatres all over the UK have now cancelled his show following the comments.

The American star also said that he had not been in a relationship for 22 years because he is infact attracted to children, and that his ideal date could land not him, but the agency in prison, if he used a dating app.

He also said: “They’re still in school so I can have a hand in their education and make sure their grades are all right, make sure the way they think about religion is all right, and what is and isn’t proper.

“I never dated young girls. I married every one I went out with. My first wife, Marianne Adams, was 16. My second, Judy Howard, was 17. Then I married a 21-year-old girl from Blackpool named Dulcie Taylor. My marriages lasted no longer than three years.”

He has also said that he thought of Jimmy Saville as a close friend, as well as infamous publicist, Max Clifford, who was sent to prison in 2014 for a string of sexual offences against girls and young women. He died whilst in prison.

A statement from Carmarthenshire Theatres said: “Following recent press articles in national newspapers and the serious nature of those articles concerning PJ Proby, we have taken the decision to cancel the forthcoming show at the Lyric in Carmarthen scheduled on June 6.

“The Box Office will be contacting customers to offer refunds.”
