Police appeal following fatal collision

Welsh-policeDYFED-POWYS POLICE is appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in the Llangadog area on October 23.

Officers would like to speak to anyone present in forestry near Cilgwyn Mansion, Llangadog, on that day to build a picture of events.

A police spokesperson said: “At 4:40pm on that day an emergency call was received requesting ambulance attendance to forestry land near Cilgwyn Mansion, Llangadog, Carmarthenshire. John Griffiths, a 40 year old motorcyclist from the Ciliau Aeron area, had sustained serious injuries as a result of a collision with a quad bike. Paramedics and police attended but tragically he died at the scene.

“A 22 year old man from the Haverfordwest area has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving; police enquries are ongoing.”

Any members of the community who may have been present in the forestry at the time of the collision are asked to contact PC 766 Roger Jones at the Carmarthenshire Roads Policing Unit on 101.
