Paying respects: The students visited the grave of Frank Evans

THERE has been a successful exchange of sixth form students between Aberystwyth and Yosano, Japan, which was formerly known as Kaya.

The student exchange stems from the late Frank Evans, a native of Llanwnen, Talybont and Aberystwyth, who was a prisoner of war in Japan during World War 2.

He wished to to build bridges between his home and the area in Japan where he was held prisoner.

During the exchange the pupils visited the grave of Mr Evans, who is buried in Talybont, and also attended a social evening at the Belle Vue Hotel.
