A SEARCH in Carmarthenshire which was linked to the terrorist attack in Westminster on Tuesday (March 22) should not concern the public, police have said.
The Herald understands that a relative of British-born Khalid Masood, the man named as the attacker in London, lived at the Carmarthenshire property.
Searches also took place at addresses in Birmingham and London.
A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson said: “The Wales Extremism and Counter Terrorism Unit (WECTU), supported by officers of Dyfed-Powys Police, have today provided assistance to The Metropolitan Police, following yesterday’s incident in London.
“In doing this, they have conducted a search of one property in Carmarthenshire – this search has concluded. The occupants are receiving appropriate support. They are not suspects and have not been arrested.
“There is no threat to the area and we are supporting the broader investigation by the MPS Counter Terrorism Command. We will continue to review our security arrangements working with colleagues and partners across Wales and wish to reassure our communities that Dyfed-Powys remains one of the safest areas to live, work and visit.

At least four people have died as a result of the attack – including a police officer named as Keith Palmer.
The Senedd paid tributes to the victims of the attack yesterday (Mar 23) by observing a minute silence.
Dyed-Powys Police said it has increased patrols in the wake of the attack.
