ABERYSTWYTH’S RNLI crew were launched just before midnight on Thursday (Apr 7) to assist with a search and rescue mission.

The RNLI lifeboat ‘Spirit of Friendship’ was asked to assist the police with a missing person in the Constitution hill area at 11.50pm.
The lifeboat crew launched into darkness and were soon on scene at the search area. The local volunteer Coastguard also attended the search at the scene.
Using night vision equipment the lifeboat crew were able to locate the casualty on the cliffs. The lifeboat then stayed in the area until the casualty was safely walked off the cliffs with the police.
The crew returned to the station at 1.45am Friday Morning (8 April), where the boat was cleaned and rehoused before the crew went back to their beds, before work the next day.
