Support for Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal

CARMARTHENSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL is urging local residents to support the 2018 British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Council Chair Cllr Mansel Charles has offered the council’s support to the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal and has agreed that poppies can be placed for sale in council premises ahead of national commemorations on November 11.

The poppy is seen as a symbol of remembrance and hope, and is worn by millions of people every year.

Sales of poppy merchandise helps benefit those currently serving in our Armed Forces, veterans, their families and dependants.

Cllr Charles said: “I’m pleased to offer the council’s support for the Poppy Appeal in remembrance of the sacrifice made by so many and to raise funds for the British Legion which continues to deliver important welfare services to the Armed Forces community.”
