12745512_10154047137956030_1051286347510128998_nA MIDNIGHT customer of McDonald’s, Haverfordwest is reported to have received a Big Mac which was smeared with as substance which appeared to be blood.

At 12 o’clock on Friday night, (Feb 19) Cheynne Richards-Wright a Pembroke Dock resident visited the fast food outlet with her partner, when she was horrified to find what looked to be blood covering the box which her Big Mac was in.

After opening the box she found more ‘blood’ spotted over parts of the bun. She then posted pictures and a brief story of the food she was served to social media with the aim of warning others about the ‘health hazard’.

Speaking about the incident Cheynne said: “Me and Chris had a baby free night so decided to get a Maccies. “We went to drive through and ordered as normal and waited for our food, I opened the blood covered box and there was blood all over the burger too.” Cheynne reported that staff from McDonald’s jested about the situation: “I was disgusted so drove back around again where we were told I could have a fresh one and a manager would speak to us, we went to the next window to have an employee joke was it human blood or cows blood?!” The couple said they were then rudely handed the replacement without an apology: “We basically got thrown the burger and ushered away. Didn’t even get to speak to anyone. I drove off and threw it away.” “Today I tweeted McDonald’s UK” she continued, “who sent me to the McDonald’s website for complaints and wrote on there too and emailed Pembrokeshire County Council food safety to tell them too!” She added: “I won’t be going back again,12744582_10154047137936030_6653656563431637261_n it was disgusting! Who in their right mind would serve someone that!”
Speaking to the Herald a McDonald’s spokesperson said: “We apologise for Ms Richard-Wright’s experience when visiting our Haverfordwest store this weekend.”

They continued: “Food quality and safety are of the utmost importance to us. No other products from the store were affected and the restaurant team cannot determine the source of this issue so we would encourage Ms Richard-Wright to get in touch with our customer services team to enable us to investigate this further.”
