THE WARM spell of sunshine Wales has recently experienced appears to be coming to an end, with the Met Office issuing a yellow warning of thunderstorms for Wales on Friday (Jul 13).
The warning, extending to the West Midlands, South West, South East and North West of England, is valid from 11am to 8pm Friday.
The Met Office warns that: “Many places will be dry, however there is the potential for heavy and slow-moving thundery downpours in places.
“Some flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely, perhaps leading to some damage to buildings.
“There is a good chance driving conditions will at times be affected by spray and standing water, leading to some minor journey delays.
“Some short-term loss of power and other services due to lightning strikes is also possible.”
