Tuesday traffic chaos in Llandovery

TWO crashes in Llandovery within an hour of each other led to queues and diversions on Tuesday evening (Apr 3).
The first two-vehicle collision happened in the Chain Bridge area of town shortly before 6pm. Two vehicles collided in the Chain Bridge area of the A40, leaving a woman trapped in her car.
Emergency services swiftly closed the road to deal with the collision, diverting traffic onto other roads. However, unfortunately at around the same time an articulated lorry hit a railway bridge on the Cilycwm Road, causing what one resident described as ‘chaos’.
Thankfully both roads were cleared by 8.30pm.
A spokesperson for Dyfed Powys Police said: “Police were called to a two vehicle collision in Llandovery at 5.50pm on Tuesday.
“A woman was trapped in one car and was extracted from the vehicle.
“The road was blocked following the incident and reopened at 8.20pm.
“A second collision in Llandovery was reported at just before 7pm in Cilycwm Road, where a lorry had got stuck under a bridge.
“The road was cleared by 8.30pm.”
