Two men charged following Gorslas robbery

TWO men have been charged following a robbery at The Phoenix Inn, Gorslas, on Tuesday (May 29).

Jordan Hancock, aged 26, of Whitchuch in Cardiff, has been charged with robbery and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, and Michael Vassello, aged 27, of Carway in Carmarthenshire, has been charged with robbery.

Both have been remanded to appear at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court this morning (Thursday, May 31).

Investigating officer Detective Inspector Neil Jenkins said: “We would like to thank the community of Gorslas for their continued support as we investigate this incident, which understandably has caused concern locally.

“A swift police response has resulted in two men being arrested and charged with a serious offence, and we would like to reassure the public that we are not looking for anyone else in connection with the robbery.”
