‏Lucky escapes for teenagers following car crashes

A TOTAL of seven teenagers had lucky escapes after their cars left the same road in two separate incidents.

The two crashes, which occurred only three days apart on the mountain road near Pembrey, resulted in nothing more serious than minor injuries, in spite of both vehicles leaving the road at speed and rolling.

Four teenagers were travelling along Mountain Road near Pembrey in Carmarthenshire on Wednesday night (May 23) when the car they were in left the carriageway on a bend in the road.

Emergency services were alerted after the white Fiat 500 left the road. PC Alex Jones of the Carmarthenshire Roads Policing Unit said that the four occupants of the vehicle were ‘incredibly lucky’ to escape with minor injuries.

Specialist lifting equipment was required to recover the car, and an ambulance was in attendance, but none of the four teens involved required hospital treatment.

In an almost identical incident on the same road shortly after midnight on Sunday morning (May 27) a black Peugeot left the road and rolled down an embankment.

When emergency services arrived, the three teenage passengers had managed to leave the vehicle themselves.
