Rebecca said: “I was shocked and privileged to even be nominated for the award. Helping to support children and young people of Ceredigion is a team effort and I consider myself very lucky to be working with such talented, inspirational and knowledgeable people in Porth Cymorth Cynnar, Ysgol Penglais School and other settings I attend.”
Rebecca, who works in primary school and community-based nurture settings in the Aberystwyth area, as well as Penglais Secondary School, has shown exceptional commitment and dedication to keeping children and young people safe in her role and her enthusiasm, empathic approach and ability to build positive relationships with children, young people and professionals has been recognised as outstanding by the safeguarding board.
David Jones, Support and Attainment Team Manager, said: “’Miss Becs’ has the natural ability to create positive environments and a safe place for children and young people. She goes over and above to listen and meet individual needs to ensure that they have a voice and advocate on their behalf when needed. This award highlights the excellent work that she does that sometimes goes unseen by many and I’m so pleased that her efforts and commitment to keeping children and young people safe have been recognised.”
Alun Williams, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Through Age Wellbeing, said: “This is a fantastic achievement and recognition for Rebecca who supports so many children and young people with emotional, social and behaviour regulation and personal development in a variety of settings.
