CARDIFF and Vale University Health Board has opened its fourth Mass Vaccination Centre today as part of its Mass Vaccination programme to protect its adult population from Covid 19 as quickly as possible.
Working in partnership with Cardiff Council and Vale of Glamorgan Council to increase capacity for vaccinations, the new Bayside MVC will enable additional capacity of up to 3,500 vaccines per day, which will be dependent on vaccine supply.
The new centre is located at the former Toys R Us site at the International Sports Village. The location of the site will be accessible for people in Cardiff and also residents in Eastern Vale.
The centre has opened just 3 weeks after it was confirmed as the fourth Mass Vaccination Centre for Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan which was announced here
All 60 GP Practices across the two counties are also taking part in the programme and Community Pharmacies will join the programme from April.
To date the Health Board has delivered over 229,500 vaccines with 174,151 of these being first doses. All first doses for Groups 1-9 are on schedule to be completed by 19 April.
