Motorist drove through Pembrokeshire despite being 15 times over legal drug-drive limit

A court has heard how a 27-year-old motorist drove through a Pembrokeshire town despite being 16 times over the legal drug-drive limit.

Jenny Clark was stopped by police at around 2.45pm on the afternoon of January 6 as she drove her Skoda Fabia trough Jacksons Way in Goodwick.

“Here eyes were dilated, so a drugs wipes was carried out,” Crown Prosecutor Ryan Colamazza told Haverfordwest magistrates earlier this week.

The wipe gave a positive indication that both cannabis and cocaine were present in her system and Clark, of Maes y Dderwen, Dinas Cross, was taken to the police station for further testing to be carried out.

These confirmed that she had 800 mcg of Benzoylecgonine in her blood, which is a derivative of cocaine. The legal limit is 50mcg.

“This means that she was 15 times over,” added Mr Colamazza.

After pleading guilty to the charge, Jenny Clark was disqualified from driving for 18 months as a result of the high reading.

She was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £48 surcharge.
