Bevan murdered Lola and her mother failed to protect her

Kyle Bevan murdered Lola in a "frenzied, brutal and violent attack"

GUILTY verdicts have been returned for both defendants in the murder trial of two-year-old Lola James.

Lola James received fatal catastrophic head injuries at her home in Princess Royal Way, Haverfordwest on the morning of July 17, 2020.

Despite the best efforts of medical teams, Lola succumbed to her injuries on July 21, 2020.

Kyle Bevan, 31, murdered Lola in what the prosecution say was a ”frenzied, brutal and violent attack”.

Throughout the trial, Bevan maintained that the family dog is responsible for inflicting the injuries on Lola by jumping up and knocking her down a flight of carpeted stairs.

Sinead James, 30, Lola’s mum has been found guilty of allowing or causing the death of her child by “failing to take reasonable steps to keep Lola safe from Bevan”.

After a four-week trial at Swansea Crown Court, today, April 4, the jury took around 10 hours to return the unanimous verdicts of guilty on both charges.

A sentencing date has been set for April 25.

Bevan will remain in custody and James will remain on bail until a sentence has been passed.
