Pennar hold off Milford to go through in Senior Cup

PENNAR Robins booked their place in the third round of the Senior Cup after their 2-1 win against Milford United at Marble Hall on Saturday (Nov 19).

The game was just three minutes old when Liam Williams scored after being set up by Nick Willis to give Pennar the lead.

With seven minutes to go until half time, Pennar were awarded a penalty and Willis stepped up to take it. He buried the spot kick in the corner, just out of reach of Milford keeper Ferdy Stevenson.

That left Milford with work to do if they were to progress to the next round.

Milford battled back in the second half and they eventually pulled a goal back with Ieuan Hawkins setting up Liam Parks to score.

There was little time left and the home side were unable to find an equaliser which would have forced extra time.

On Saturday, November 26, Pennar return to action in Division 1 as they host Neyland. Milford return to action in Division 2 as they host Merlins Bridge seconds.
