Tish hold off St Clears to seal win

ST Ishmaels held off a late comeback from St Clears on Saturday (Dec 3) as they earned a 4-2 win.

Both sides were looking to pick up some points but it was Tish who struck first with Ed Richards opening the scoring in the nineteenth minute.

Joel Mills then doubled Tish’s lead on the stroke of half time, leaving the Saints with a mountain to climb in the second half.

Their task became even harder in the 60th minute as Joel Morgan scored Tish’s third goal of the game.

Despite the scoreline the Saints did not give up and four minutes later they were given a penalty. Will Evans stepped up and scored to pull a goal back for the home side.

Evans then turned provider for Jon Seeley to score just four minutes later and the Saints were suddenly back in the game with the score at 2-3.

The Saints pushed for a late equaliser but it was instead Tish who scored to make the game safe as an own goal from Jason Baxter gave Tish a 4-2 win.

On Saturday, December 10, Tish visit Carew while St Clears are at home again as they welcome Neyland.
