Dockyard Hotel to be refurbished

council-bgPLANS have been approved to refurbish the old Commodore Hotel in Pembroke Dock’s Royal Dockyard by the council planning committee. The former hotel, in Admiralty Way, has long been disused after it was destroyed in a fire in 2006. It was sold in 2013 for £85,000, £60,000 more than the guide price.

The application also includes plans to convert a stable block at the back of the hotel into five self-contained maisonettes, and the building of 22 flats and four town houses. Despite concerns over the visual effect of the building on the town and criticisms by the Pembroke Dock civic society and Georgian group, it is believed the renovation of the hotel will provide much needed accommodation for ferry passengers
