St David’s evening in Felingwm-uchaf

ST DAVID’s celebration evening was held at the Community Centre at Felingwm-uchaf on February 28. The evening also commemorated the special contribution given by the late Brynmor Jones, Nantgaredig , who had been Chairman of the Committee for 40 years.

The Old School was full to the brim with a feast of cawl, bara brith and welsh cakes made by the ladies of the community.

Followed by entertainment by three young people Dafydd Evans, bass from Croesyceiliog, humourous recitations by Gwennan Davies, Nantgaredig and Erin Aled from Llanuwchlyn, North Wales grand daughter of the late Brynmor Jones playing the harp, piano and singing. President of the evening was Emyr Jones, Rhydargaeau a local person of Felingwm who gave an appropriate address. The evening’s compere was John James, Chairman of the Committee.

During the evening a solid oak bench was revealed made by Dilwyn Daniels, Brechfa in memory of the late Brynmor Jones and a photograph. It was a great pleasure to welcome the family to the Community Centre by John James.
