Archers take aim and defeat Ammanford

TWO goals in each half were enough to ease Cardiff Met through in this Nathaniel MG cup game against Ammanford AFC at the Recreation Ground on Friday night (Aug 6).

First half goals from Emlyn Lewis and Adam Roscow were followed in the second half by goals from Matthew Chubb and Christopher Baker.

Cymru Premier side Cardiff Met showed their qualities under the guidance of their Manager Christian Edwards.

Ammanford were unable to come up with the answers on how to break through the lines of the Archers defence and were often on the back foot themselves defending waves of attacks from the visitors.

Met’s right full back Matthew Chubb took every opportunity to race down the flank of Ammanford and took some stopping but in the second half he got his reward of a goal by latching onto a long raking pass from the back and tucked away his opportunity.

For Ammanford Kai Whitmore, Tristan Jenkins and Lee Trundle tried to apply some pressure especially in the latter stages of the first half but that was as good as the home side could manage as they were literally limited in their opportunities by a very organised Met’s team.

In summary a very professional job done by the Cymru Premier league outfit and thoroughly deserving of their victory.

For Ammanford it’s back to JD Cymru South league action on Tuesday evening against Llantwit Major.
