THE Bluebirds shared the points at Goytre on Saturday after an evenly fought contest.
The Blues gave debuts to ex- Afan Lido winger Luke Borelli and youth team keeper Dan Evans. Tim Hicks also returned to the squad after coming back from a long spell at Carmarthen Town.
Goytre played well and often played a high ball into the box to test new keeper Evans, but Sam Rodon supported well and when called upon Evans was found more than capable.
It was goalless at half time but the second half sprung into life when Goytre opened the scoring. Shortly after, a Goytre attacker was shown a red card for a rash challenge on the keeper and the Blues had a way back into the game.
Hicks was brought on to partner Leahy up front and came close to equalising as did Richie Lewis. It was Leahy who finally scored the equaliser, a reward for their hard work and persistence.
The result has allowed Taffs Well to climb above the Bluebirds into first spot, but they have played a game more than the Blues.
There is no game for the Bluebirds this week and their next game is on December 7 when they host Ton Pentre.
