Carew prove too strong for Neyland

CAREW earned their sixth win in a row in all competitions on Saturday (March 19) as they beat Neyland 5-1.

Archie Smith put the Rooks ahead after just seven minutes but Neyland battled well and the score remained 1-0 until half time.

The home side took control in the second half though and James Hinchliffe scored in the 67th minute to give Carew some breathing space.

Ten minutes later Hinchliffe added his second to all but seal the points for the Rooks.

Sean Hannon pulled a goal back for Neyland almost straightaway but it would prove to be a consolation for the visitors.

Jordan Richards then scored twice in four minutes to win the game for the home side with the final score at 5-1.

The result for Neyland is their third defeat in a row and it means they are now four points off third-from-bottom St Ishmaels with a game in hand.

Carew remain third in the table, five points off second placed Hakin United.

On Saturday, March 26, Carew will look to get back to winning ways when they travel to Fishguard while Neyland are at home to Clarbeston Road.
