Cresselly close the gap to leaders with win over Lawrenny

CRESSELLY closed the gap to leaders Neyland to just one point after beating Lawrenny by ten wickets on Saturday (Jul 2).

Cresselly won the toss and chose to field and they were able to bowl Lawrenny out for 149.

Ryan Morton top scored for the visitors with 33 while Steve Lewis added 32.

Ryan Lewis was in excellent form with the ball as he finished with figures of 4-22. He was backed up by Dan James who finished with 3-21.

In reply, Cresselly lost Adam Chandler when he had to retire hurt on a score of 28.

Simon Cole then finished unbeaten on 37 while Phil Williams was not out on 76 as Cresselly won well.

The win moves Cresselly to within a point of leaders Neyland with seven games still to play this season.

On Saturday, July 9, Cresselly travel to Carew while Lawrenny visit Narberth.
