FELINFACH picked up a crucial win last Saturday afternoon (Mar 11) as they beat Aberaeron Reserves 4-1 to move out of the relegation zone.

Owain Dafydd opened the Felin scoring rewarding the Milkmen for some positive early pressure as Dafydd pounced on a defensive mix up allowing him to stroke the ball home into an empty net for a deserved 1-0 lead.

Aeron though levelled the scoring after a free-kick was lashed into the bottom corner from the edge of the box. 1-1 the score at HT.

The Seasiders enjoyed the lion’s share of possession for the majority of the second half but couldn’t unlock the door of the Felin back line with Dan White and Jamie Davies putting in some confident performances, along with the experienced Eilir Evans and the solid Gwion Davies at fullbacks.

Felin regained the lead after Rhys James picked up the ball some 25 yards out and worked some space to unleash a clean strike which found the top right-hand corner, giving the Milkmen the lead once more.

They soon added a third after a swift counter-attack gave substitute, Aled Davies the opportunity to tap home a Kieron Boyes cross from a yard out giving the visiting side some much needed breathing space.

Aeron became increasingly desperate to try and get back into the game but left themselves vulnerable to another Felin counter-attack and were almost made to pay as Felin missed a few chances to wrap it up for good.

But eventually they did add a fourth when Aled Davies received the ball on the edge of the box, scuffing a shot that wrong-footed the Aeron goalkeeper and trickled in at the near post to send Felin home with all three points.

On Saturday, March 18, Felinfach will be looking to pick up another win as they travel to Lampeter.
