Carew see off Clarbeston Road in Senior Cup

CAREW booked their place in the next round of the Senior Cup with a 4-1 win away at Clarbeston Road on Saturday (Oct 1).

With both sides former finalists in recent years, neither wanted to exit the competition at the earliest opportunity.

Carew won both meetings between the two sides last season and they took the lead early on in this game.

Jordan Richards put his side ahead after just seven minutes but the Road were level only two minutes later as Jake Booth scored.

Richards then scored again to put Carew back ahead after 18 minutes.

It remained that way until half time with the home side feeling they were still very much in the game.

On 60 minutes Sonny Phillips scored Carew’s third goal to give his side a two-goal cushion.

As Clarby pushed to get back into the game, Adam Muskett scored Carew’s fourth to confirm their passage into the next round.

On Saturday, October 8, Clarbeston Road visit Merlins Bridge in Division 1. Carew are also in Division 1 action as they visit Monkton Swifts.
