STRIKER Rhys Griffiths, second on the Welsh Premier League’s all-time goal scoring list, has left Park Avenue with immediate effect.
Griffiths joined Aberystwyth from Port Talbot Town ahead of the 2015- 16 season and scored seven goals in 17 games.
“I’ve decided to leave Aberystwyth Town to search for a new challenge. I wish the club success for the future. I’ll certainly miss the players,” Griffiths tweeted.
The 36 year old is a seven-times winner of the Dafabet Welsh Premier Golden Boot Award, winning it seven times on the bounce between 2005 and 2012 whilst playing for Port Talbot Town and Llanelli AFC.
Griffiths has featured in the WPL for 15 seasons scoring an incredible 269 goals in his career, during the 2007/08 campaign Rhys bagged 40 goals for Llanelli guiding them to the league title.
