THE CREW of Neil Williams and Peter James from Teifi Valley Motor Club continued their season in the Welsh Historic Championship with a fantastic result at the famous Epynt Stages in the Dixies Historic Challenge on Sunday (May 1).
Tough conditions made the stages very challenging for all involved, but the disappointment of retiring from the lead in 2015 was well and truly forgotten with this year’s success.
The crew finished 1st overall in the Welsh Historic section of the event with nearly a 2 minute gap from the second placed crew. This gave them 6th overall in the modified field where they were competing against WRC cars.
They are now leading the Welsh Historic Championship after 2 events with another 5 to go. Neil and Peter’s next event will be Dale stages on May 22.
Eifion Thomas also represented TVMC in the event in a Ford Escort RS 2000 along with navigator Mark Powell from Ammanford and District Motor Club. They finished 20th overall in the modified field, and 3rd in the C3 category.
