Tish blow Llangwm away

A SUPERB century from Peter Bradshaw helped St Ishmaels to a stunning nine-wicket win over Llangwm on Saturday (May 4).

Llangwm won the toss and elected to bat and that looked to be a good decision as the visitors posted 247-6 from their 45 overs.

Openers Will Beresford and Joe Kiff made a good start as they shared 62 runs for the first wicket. Beresford made 41 but was then caught by Jack Nicholas off the bowling of Brennan Devonald.

Joe was then joined by brother Matthew and the pair shared 56 runs for the second wicket. Matthew hit six fours in a score of 31 but he was then bowled by Andrew Williams.

Joe hit five fours and four sixes as he made his way to a score of 68 but Williams struck again.

Ollie Davies made 10 before he was run out by Jack Nicholas to reduce Llangwm to 235-4.

Noah Davies also batted well for a score of 30 with two fours and a six but he was also bowled by Williams.

Bradshaw also claimed a wicket for Tish as he had Gary James caught by Williams on a score of 7.

James Venables finished not out on 42 with two fours and three sixes as he helped Llangwm post a challenging target.

However, Tish made light work of their target as Bradshaw and Harry Nicholas shared 122 runs for the first wicket.

Nicholas made 43 but he was then stumped by Will Beresford off the bowling of Callum Jenkins.

That was as good as it got for the visitors as Bradshaw and Tish’s third man steered their side to victory.

Tish’s third man hit eight fours and two sixes as he smashed 76 from 48 balls.

Bradshaw hit ten fours and a six as he finished not out on 106 to give Tish a 28-point win.

On Saturday (May 11), Tish are away to Neyland while Llangwm are away to Haverfordwest.
