Two arrested following Gorslas robbery [UPDATED]

TWO men have been arrested following a robbery at The Phoenix Inn, Gorslas, near Cross Hands, which was reported shortly before 9.30am yesterday (May 29).

Dyfed-Powys Police can confirm two men, aged 26 and 27, from the Cardiff area, have been arrested in connection with the robbery.

They remain in police custody at this time.

Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Neil Jenkins, said: “While incidents like this are rare in Dyfed-Powys, we know this has caused significant concern to the community. Thanks to a combination of information from the public and swift action by officers we were able to arrest one man last night, and a second man this morning. I would like to reassure the public we  are not looking for anyone else in connection to this incident.

“We are continuing our appeal for information, and are particularly interested in any sightings of a Red Vauxhall Corsa at Penygroes Road between 9.15am and 9.30am yesterday (Tuesday, 29 May). The car is believed to have then made off towards Gorslas Square and Black Lion Road. We are keen to receive dash cam footage which shows the car, from anyone in the area around that time.

“I would like to thank the Gorslas community for their support while we continue our investigation. The Neighbourhood Policing Team will continue their patrols of the area today and anyone with concerns is encouraged to speak to an officer.”

Anyone with information or dash cam footage is urged to call 101. If you are Deaf, hard of hearing or speech impaired, text the non-emergency number on 07811 311908. Quote reference: 20180529-095.
