One hospitalised after Nantycaws crash

THE THIRD crash in four days on the A48 saw one person hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries.

Shortly before 2.30pm on Saturday (Dec 2) emergency services were called to the A48 at Nantycaws, after a two-vehicle collision saw one car leave the road.

Police closed off one lane of the westbound carriageway while the incident was dealt with, which led to some delays.

A spokesperson for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “We received a call at 2.28pm on Saturday to reports of a two-vehicle collision on the A48 in Nantycaws, near the filling station.

“Three people involved were out of their vehicles on arrival, and crews from Carmarthen and Tumble were involved in making the area safe.”

The Welsh Ambulance confirmed that one person was taken to Glangwili Hospital after the crash.

This was the third collision in four days on this stretch of road. On Friday, one person was hospitalised after their car collided with a hedge.

On Wednesday (Nov 29) a Pembrokeshire businessman had a lucky escape after his car was extensively damaged in a five-vehicle crash.
